Emotions perhaps have colors

When joy finds you

In moments of leaping delight, it might be orange

Warm, brimming with the scent of sunshine

Emotions perhaps have colors

When setbacks befall you

In times of sorrow and pain, it may be gray

Filled with the chill of cold and loneliness

Emotions perhaps have colors

When anger surges within

In the instant before eruption, it must be red

Burning heat spreading through every inch of you

Emotions perhaps have colors

When the future clouds with confusion

In moments of hesitation, it's probably blue

Full of hope yet hesitant to be sure

Emotions should have colors

When confidence is regained, stepping forward

In the courage to press on, it is surely green

Vigor and bloom seeping into the heart

Emotions most certainly have colors

Through all life's twists and turns

When we quiet ourselves to read our own emotions

Every page shines, gorgeous and full of hue
